Lanercost House is a 95-bed home conveniently located on a modern residential housing estate on the outskirts of Carlisle. Specially designed to meet the needs of our residents, it includes great facilities from a sensory room and life skills kitchen to a secure garden that’s easily accessible. All of which gives you the opportunity to provide the very highest standards of care in this warm, homely environment.
As a team, we’re focused on helping our residents lead fulfilling lives. Trips out in the minibus to garden centres and parks, visits from entertainers, pampering sessions and themed events are all on offer. Personalised care plans, freshly cooked meals and the highest level of nursing care available 24/7 complete the picture.
The team here is made up of managers, nurses, carers and a number of people in support roles in areas like administration and maintenance. All of us take the same pride in making the home somewhere residents and their families enjoy spending time. We provide first-class 24-hour nursing care and support here at Lanercost, and our dedicated Carlyle Suite offers expert dementia care for adults over 50 who have challenging behaviour. We’re also fully equipped to provide care for those who’ve had a stroke, or are living with multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, or a physical disability.
We’re very proud of our dedicated Memory Lane Community, which provides specialist resources for people living with dementia in a homely yet secure environment. This includes colour and cues to help residents navigate through the home as well as thoughtful interior design and memory boxes to help with reminiscence. Features such as adapted crockery and tableware, sensory gardens with low-risk walkways and activity kitchens also enable people to engage in life’s everyday simple tasks and pleasures.
