Marnel Lodge is a 62-bed care home situated in Basingstoke. It’s designed to provide the highest quality residential and nursing care for older people, (including those with dementia) as well as younger people who are living with physical disabilities. From the carefully chosen interior décor, to the accessible landscaped gardens and the up-to-date facilities, everything is tailor-made to help our residents feel at home – and to help you provide the highest level of care.
Each resident has a tailored care plan and their needs and preferences are factored into every aspect of day-to-day life. Whether it’s the freshly cooked meals we serve, our hair salon facilities, or the wide-ranging activities we run each week, we put choice and individuality at the heart of all that we do. Our activities are as varied as our residents, with regular baking sessions, painting classes, flower arranging and regular excursions and trips all proving popular.
As well as nurses providing 24-hour cover, the team includes managers and care staff specially trained in dementia care, activities co-ordinators, trained chefs, administrators and maintenance staff. As well as 24-hour nursing care, we also offer residential care for frail older people who need additional support, and short-term respite care. We provide care for younger people with physical disabilities, too.
We can offer specialist care for those living with Huntington’s and Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, acquired brain injuries and the after effects of a stroke. We also offer mental health care services.
We’re very proud of our dedicated Memory Lane Community, which provides specialist resources for people living with dementia in a homely yet secure environment. This includes colour and cues to help residents navigate through the home as well as thoughtful interior design to help with reminiscence.
Within our community, memory boxes are also used to help each person reminisce. Features such as adapted crockery and tableware, sensory gardens with low-risk walkways and activity kitchens also enable people to engage in life’s everyday simple tasks and pleasures.
