Billingham Grange is an independent 50-bed hospital with 3 gender and age specific units. Our multidisciplinary team works in close collaboration with patients, families and community agencies to develop effective treatment programmes for improving quality of life and maximising independence.
From our Nurses, Support Workers and Psychiatrist, through to our Art, Music and Occupational Therapists, administrators and ancillary teams, everyone who works here is focused on person-centred care. After assessment, we draw up a care plan based on evidence-based therapy, care and treatment. From sports and horticultural therapy to regular massage and work with a Nordoff Robbins-accredited music therapist we use a range of methods to help people work towards a more independent way of living.

We cater for people receiving treatment and care under the provision of the Mental Health Act, DoLS, or as an informal patient. It’s our aim to provide the highest standards of support and care to people with enduring and progressive mental health disorders. We deliver specialist care for those with acquired brain injury, cognitive impairment and complex and challenging behaviour.
Our Grange unit works with men of 18 years and above, our Hart unit with men of 60 years and upwards, and our Wynard unit with women of 18 years and over.
We provide specialist services for those living with alcohol-related dementia (Korsakoff’s), Alzheimer’s, Pick’s disease and vascular dementia. We also work with patients with dual diagnoses and a forensic history.
