We have a rare opportunity for a HR Specialist to join our small Inverness team, where you will provide senior management across the business with support around employment law and HR best practice, all whilst demonstrating a strong commercial awareness. This position is fundamental in ensuring that a comprehensive HR service is delivered to Barchester’s 240 care homes, as well as corporate teams.
NEED TO HAVE:
• Previous experience in a similar role
• Excellent knowledge of employment law and HR best practice
• In depth experience dealing with complex employee relations issues
• Good planning and organisational skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Good attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work to deadlines
NEED TO DO:
• Coach, support and advise senior managers based on complex ER issues and case management
• Deal with employment issues by liaising with management/employees as appropriate, seeking internal/external advice where necessary to ensure employment law compliance and applying best practice
• Partner with senior managers in active performance management of employees
• Manage complex sickness absence cases and offer guidance around Company policy on pay and when to use discretion, as well as manage occupational health referrals
• Support senior  managers with complex investigations, grievances, capability and disciplinary hearings
• Management of Employment Tribunal claims
