As Lead HR Business Partner at Barchester, you’ll ensure we’re looking after the people who ensure that we achieve our purpose ‘to provide a premium caring experience’. We’ll look to you to lead the HR Business Partner (HRBP) team to support business needs, create effective risk management practices and maintain our high standards of HR services for employees across our homes and hospitals.

This role will see you providing seasoned and expert advice to operational leaders on all Employee Relations (ER) matters, as well as organisation-wide projects. . When we face any ER/HR issues, we’ll rely on you to oversee the most effective resolutions which keep the care of our residents uppermost in mind. In cases where there maybe potential litigation, you’ll handle them confidently and skilfully, whether it’s an employment tribunal claim or a settlement agreement. You’ll also collaborate with senior operational management to understand their priorities and develop ER strategies that support them.

You’ll always be on the lookout for ways to keep our people up to date on ER/HR matters ¬– it’ll be up to you to develop training in legislative topics and processes, including inductions, webinars and workshops. It’ll also be your responsibility to produce HR management updates and presentations at Divisional and Regional meetings. As the team leader you’ll be expected to engage with senior operational management. Depending on project requirements this role will require travel, which may be at short notice.

To join us as Lead HR Business Partner, you’ll need extensive experience in an HRBP role or equivalent. Ideally, you’ll also be CIPD Chartered or have a Diploma Employment Law qualification, or at least have an excellent working knowledge of current employment legislation. We’ll look for evidence that you thrive on a varied workload, whether that’s report writing, giving presentations or organising records – all tasks you’ll be accomplished at. You’ll be a personable self-starter who can confidently lead and mentor a team of HRBPs. This means you’ll have excellent communication skills, a commitment to high standards, and an innovative approach to problem-solving.
