ABOUT THE ROLE
As an Operational Trainer with Barchester, you’ll make sure the people working in our care homes and independent mental health hospitals have the training they need to provide the best in person-centred care for our residents and patients.
This is a home-based role that will see you travelling to different care homes in and around the Oxfordshire area to ensure that we always meet our high training standards. As an organisation, we put a huge emphasis on training and development, and you’ll be pivotal in ensuring our provision always is second to none. Your specific responsibilities will span training delivery, staff inductions and development, which makes this a very varied role. You can expect to be involved with everything, from planning training calendars, championing e-learning and supporting employees through their induction, to attending conferences, optimising apprenticeship opportunities and analysing our ongoing training needs.
This is a demanding but incredibly rewarding role that will see you delivering exceptional training and, in turn, having a lasting impact on the lives of our teams, our residents and our patients.
You should have a minimum of a C&G 7300 (or equivalent), a Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care (or experience of working in the care sector) and a good working knowledge of legislative requirements within the care industry. We’ll also want to see some experience of training, coaching and mentoring others, excellent communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team. With a flexible approach and a full, clean driving licence, you’ll be comfortable working out in the field at our homes and hospitals (staying overnight if necessary) and undertaking shift patterns that include some evenings, weekends and early mornings – we want to give everyone the best possible access to our training. Strong organisational skills and plenty of initiative are also essential.
As well as a competitive salary, you’ll also have plenty of opportunity to grow your career in a warm and supportive environment.
If you’d like to use your coaching and people skills in an organisation that provides the quality care you’d expect for your loved ones, this is an empowering and rewarding place to be.
We recognise that you and your role is pivotal in shaping the future of our organisation. That’s why in return for your dedication, you’ll receive a competitive salary plus our sector-leading benefits and rewards package. Take a look at how we’re committed to rewarding your amazing work and commitment when you join us.
We’re proud to have over 240 care homes and six independent hospitals nationwide, that continually meet and exceed all relevant regulatory compliance standards. Join one of our fantastic teams and you’ll make sure our residents and patients get the outstanding quality of care, support, services and facilities they deserve.
We recognise and celebrate difference and pride ourselves on creating an inclusive environment for all. Whoever you are, we want you to be yourself, always. This enables greater diversity across the entire organisation for the benefit of our workforce and also the people we celebrate life with in our homes and hospitals. Barchester is proud to be an equal opportunities organisation.
