Lucerne House is a purpose-built, 76-bed home near Exeter, surrounded by beautiful grounds. From our sensory gardens to our specialist facilities within the home, we can offer you the perfect environment and support in which to deliver the highest quality person-centered care.
As part of a varied team, you’ll play a big part in the lives of our residents. You’ll help make life comfortable, happy and stimulating, whether you’re cooking a resident’s favourite meal, arranging for old hobbies to be revisited, putting up a cherished picture to personalise a room, or providing specialist nursing and care support. It’s the dedication, expertise and good humour of our teams that makes Lucerne House such a special place to live and work.
The team here is made up of managers, nurses, carers, a Music Therapist and an award-winning Activities Co-ordinator, as well as a number of people in support roles in areas like administration and maintenance. All of us take the same pride in making the home somewhere residents and their families enjoy spending time. All of our staff have access to the training and development they need to make the most of their skills and open up new opportunities for their Barchester careers.

We provide first class 24-hour nursing care, residential care for frail older people who need additional support, and respite and short break care.
In addition, our dedicated Memory Lane Community provides the specialist resources for people living with dementia in a homely yet secure environment. This includes colour and cues to help residents navigate through the home as well as thoughtful interior design to help with reminiscence.
Within our community, memory boxes are used to help each person reminisce. Features such as adapted crockery and tableware, sensory gardens with low-risk walkways and activity kitchens also enable people to engage in life’s everyday simple tasks and pleasures.
