This statement highlights our commitment to combat modern slavery in our organisation and supply chain,
Barchester Healthcare are one of the largest independent care providers in the UK. As an operator of over 200 care homes, we pride ourselves of delivering exceptional levels of care to our residents. Our employees are a key component of our care delivery. A key component of our care delivery are our suppliers who are predominantly UK suppliers who we work closely with to develop close ties.
Our supply chains include a wide range of products and services including but not exhaustive: construction, utilities, staffing, food and catering and waste removal.
We are committed to ensure that there is no modern slavery or human trafficking in our supply chains or in any part of our business.
Our commitment is to act ethically and with integrity in all our business relationships and to implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure slavery and human trafficking is not taking place anywhere in our supply chains.

We have zero tolerance to slavery and human trafficking and require our suppliers and contractors to comply.
We make our employees aware of the risks of modern slavery and human trafficking in our supply chains and our business.
This statement is made pursuant to section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and constitutes our slavery and human trafficking statement for the financial year ending 31 March 2023. It was approved by the Board on 31 July 2023.
